I am a warrior Proud, fierce and strong. Relentless in my struggles. A righteous Rasta man.
Now those days are far long gone...And the ways we used to live...And a different struggle pushes me on....In a land that don't forgive.
Times and places all have changed...But memories still remain...Of Rasta vibes and Rasta lives.
If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life.
Jah Love, Greetings and Welcome to all our on-line visitors, old and new. Rootzfoundation.org is the official site of Rootz Foundation Inc. and provides current information about the charitable cultural and educational presentations and other community outreach services carried out by the Broward County based Non-profit organization. Visitors to this site may also make donations to Rootz Foundation Inc., in order to further its charitable and educational non-profit community outreach services..
The Rootz Foundation, Inc. is a Non-profit community outreach organization founded on May 5th 2007 for exclusively charitable and educational purposes. The legal form of Rootz Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Corporation. Based at 4492 Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pembroke Park, Broward County, Florida,, our Non-profit organization provides a range of essential educational, cultural, recreational, health and media related services nationally and internationally to underserved so-called minority communities and individuals, and especially to at-risk African-American and Afro-Caribbean students.
As a charitable and educational non-profit community outreach organization, Rootz Foundation, Inc. accepts tax-deductible donations on this site to assist in funding the range of essential educational, cultural, recreational, health and media related youth intervention services we provide. We encourage you to help us help disadvantaged and at-risk minority communities and students.
The delivery of multimedia presentations, workshops and seminars are educational and cultural in nature by definition and fulfill our charitable Non-profit obligations, as they bring an increased awareness to minority students and to the general public in disadvantaged communities about a wide range of specific issues and topics that promote an awareness of cultural diversity, an understanding of the African and African American experience, and that also encourage and promote environmental responsibility, proper nutritional health-care practices and healthy recreational habits.
The Rootz Foundation also provides a culturally oriented youth intervention and outreach program for minority students entitled the Kidz Culture Connection, which provides a number of unique self-improvement opportunities for its young participants.
The purpose of Rootz Foundation is to provide Cultural Education to underserved or otherwise disenfranchised minority communities, especially in inner-city areas, starting with such areas in Broward County. The Foundation’s activities include the delivery of multimedia presentations, seminars and workshops to the public generally (individuals, groups and organizations), and in particular, to so-called minority students aged six to fourteen in 1st Grade to 8th Grade. In addition to these activities, the Rootz Foundation also produces digital media and publishes printed materials that support the main topics presented at the live events.
Ultimately, the long term vision of the founders of Rootz Foundation is to provide an opportunity for disadvantaged minority students to improve their sense of purpose, regain their self-esteem, rebuild a positive sense of their cultural identity and increase their self-confidence in their own academic abilities. This kind of culturally based multimedia methodology employed by the Foundation to achieve our goal, is quite fittingly called “Cultural Communications” and we are working hard to ensure its effectiveness in enabling and empowering at-risk youngsters to become higher achievers as students in school and better future citizens of the 21st century world.
