Purpose of the Foundation
The Rootz Foundation, Inc. (Rootz Foundation) is a Non-profit community outreach organization founded for exclusively charitable and educational purposes. Based at 4492 Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pembroke Park, Broward County, Florida, the organization provides essential educational, cultural, recreational, health and multimedia intervention services nationally and internationally to underserved individuals, especially minority students.
The activities of Rootz Foundation include the delivery of multimedia presentations and seminars to the public (individuals, groups and organizations), and the publication of materials that support the topics presented. Topics relate to promoting educational and cultural awareness of the Pan-African Experience, and the promotion of recreational, health and media services to underserved individuals nationally and internationally. The activities are all conducted regularly throughout the year. Scheduling depends on public demand, community calendars, budgeting, and availability of resources.
The Rootz Foundation conducts fundraising activities solely for itself in the State of Florida. The Rootz Foundation’s target delivery area is the South Florida metro area and extends to other states and internationally as opportunities become available.
The Rootz Foundation was formed for educational, cultural and media purposes beneficial to underserved communities. The delivery of multimedia presentations, workshops and seminars are educational and cultural and charitable in nature as they bring increased awareness to minority students and the general public about specific community issues including diversity and environmental responsibility. The publication of written materials and the production of video, graphics and other forms of digital media, supporting the said educational and cultural endeavors of the Rootz Foundation Inc., further fulfill the organization’s non-profit requirements.
Our charitable operations and services are funded primarily through contributions from the public, including, but not limited to contributions from individuals, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and corporations.
